I have lots of picture frames in storage just getting in the way. Some very cool older ones and some with newer art that we no longer hang. Thinking that birds must love art also I put together this duplex. The front uses my favorite wood, reclaimed pine house boards. I find some very interesting grain in these boards along with nails and staples but it's worth it when I discover wood worth framing.

This has to be called "Old #8" Thanks to Karen and Gary for the donation of the Erector set meant for my grandson.

The Erector set #8 comes together Lots of engineering and moving things around brought together the second in a series of 3 birdhouses that started out with the same size box. I find the old warn metal and lots of tarnished screw heads plus the bright colors to be very interesting.

Left over copper pipe. That is how this one got started. A dryer gas line and 1/2" pipe that was salvaged from a lake cabin along with some odds and ends. Next came the opportunity to use it. I built 3 boxes all the same size. The challenge here is to create birdhouses with their own personality. Copper Top is the first one to be finished. Below is box #2 that I am currently working on along with some help from an old Erector set #8.

Some things move and other don't. This would do quite well outside except for the string with a coat of spray protection. it would be interesting to see just how the birds would react to the colors and shapes
